Krakow public transport is easiest to understand if you begin with time, not with vehicle type. The ZTP ticket guide lists 15-minute, 30-minute or one-ride, 60-minute and 90-minute tickets, all covering zones I+II+III. For a visitor who is not yet sure about zones, that first table is the quickest starting point.
What to know
Longer stays move into day and week products. The official guide lists 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour and 7-day options, with different prices depending on whether the ticket covers only zone I or zones I+II+III. A weekend family ticket also exists for zones I+II+III.
The practical choice depends on the day. A central museum-and-cafe plan may need only short tickets; an airport, Wieliczka or suburban accommodation plan usually requires checking the zone. Buying a ticket is not the same as validating the right one, so the fare table should be checked before the first ride.
