Krakow residents can still use LajkBike, but the first check is the waiting line

LajkBike remains one of Krakow’s more practical resident services because it is built for long-term testing rather than a single tourist ride. The official project page describes it as a non-commercial programme financed by the Municipality of Krakow and intended to let residents test a bicycle in daily use.

The current operational caveat is availability. The LajkBike page warns that the waiting time for handing over both traditional and electrically assisted bicycles has increased. That means the first decision is not whether the monthly price looks attractive, but whether the queue fits the user’s commuting or school-year timing.

The published process is simple: submit the registration form, wait for verification, pay the order, then collect the bicycle. The service centre is included during the rental period, which matters because long-term rental makes sense only if repairs and checks are predictable.

What it means

For contracts from January 2025, the published price list shows a traditional bicycle at 33 zł per month with a 100 zł refundable deposit. An electrically assisted bicycle with a monthly limit up to 900 km is listed at 89 zł per month and a 500 zł deposit. A no-limit electric option is listed at 499 zł per month with a 500 zł deposit and is aimed at intensive daily use.
