Fifteen new articulated electric buses join Krakow fleet

Krakow has added 15 articulated electric Solaris buses to its public-transport fleet. The city presented the vehicles on 23 June at the Wola Duchacka bus depot and says the buses will start appearing on lines from the same period.

Each bus can carry 129 passengers, including 43 seated passengers. Fourteen seats are placed in high-accessibility areas by the low floor, which matters for older riders, parents with prams and passengers with reduced mobility. The vehicles also include passenger-counting equipment and reversing cameras and sensors.

The technical package is built for full-day city work: Solaris High Energy batteries with about 420 kWh capacity, plug-in and pantograph charging, and a 320 kW electric motor. For riders, the near-term benefit is quieter service and modern accessibility; for the city, the story is another step in replacing older vehicles with a lower-emission fleet.
