The Kolna course in western Krakow is hosting the 2026 Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships from 30 June through 5 July. Organisers expect 445 young athletes representing 51 countries across five continents, making the event one of the city’s most international sporting fixtures this summer.

What to know

Competition begins with individual kayak-cross time trials, followed by team finals and then individual semi-finals and finals later in the week. Kayak cross, which joined the Olympic programme in Paris in 2024, brings four athletes onto the course together and gives the closing day a format that is easy for first-time spectators to follow.

Admission is free, but visitors should check the official schedule before travelling to Kolna 2 because start times and progression depend on qualification results. Krakow previously hosted the junior and U23 championships in 2016, 2019 and 2023, and another edition is already planned for 2028.
