Krakow used the first weekend of July for the final stage of tram works at the Kombinat junction in Nowa Huta. The city said tram traffic was fully suspended there on 4 and 5 July while crews replaced traction equipment across the junction.

What to know

The change affected lines 21, 22, 74 and 75. The most important reader takeaway is timing: the city planned to restore movement on Monday, 6 July, before the morning start of regular daytime services. That makes the shutdown a short but concentrated disruption rather than a multi-week closure.

The works also sit inside a wider summer transport pattern. Grzegorzecka repairs, temporary detours and holiday schedules mean Krakow commuters should check live MPK/ZTP routing before leaving, especially when crossing between Nowa Huta, the centre and the south of the city.
